Prude people may say that it depends on how you’re groomed, but it may not always be the case.

Wake up!

Dooooddle doooo!

The world is too fragile for people to be untrue

Now showing on TCS 5. I have another TV series to follow on every Mondays. Here's the official website of the show: Brothers & Sisters

It revolves on the story of 5 siblings who are successfull professionals (except for the youngest) and their widowed mom. Calista Flockhart, whom I first saw in the defunct Ally Mcbeal show, is part of the TV series.

I like the show. It keeps on touching my life.

Just a few nice dialogues from the show:

"We can't help who we love"
"Yeah, but we can help who we are"

"The world is too fragile for people to be untrue. I never smoked anyways. This question was posed to a Linux kernel developer Con Kolivas—and yes, he’s the one in the picture.

What impressed me about him is that he was never a Computer Science student. He was actually an anaesthetist at a hospital in Melbourne.

You can click this link to read the full text of his interview: Interview Con Kolivas

So, why did he quit? To quote:

“So I still haven't answered your question about what made me stop kernel
development have I? I guess explaining my motivations helps me explain why I
stopped.

“The user response was still there. If anything, the users got
more vocal than ever as I was announcing quitting kernel development…
“The
intellectual challenge? Well that still existed of course…
“The fun? Yes
that's what was killed. It stopped being fun…”

Very well said, “it stopped being fun”. So, am I having fun or am I going to follow the same incantation this cool guy speaks?

I just realized that the problem with me is that I have this big insatiable devourer of knowledge and learning. Maybe some will argue that it’s not a bad thing, but in my case it does. It’s like hopping to different ideas every now and then, always wandering on what’s not boring—in the end it just results to a half-filled bottle of learning. It’s like a lukewarm feeling of knowing something, you cannot firmly say YES nor can you say NO.

Everyday it haunts me; I’m on the prime age of my life. This is the moment I should be triumphing over myself and doing those daunting challenges that would really mark a dent in my personal history. And the time is beating faster than my heart.

I GOT THE BASICS!!

Great feeling! Aside from seeing the cute ones inside the room, who not only inspired me to pass the exam but also made me perspire even in the cold freezing room, I managed to pass the basic theory test of driving. It felt so great, it's like winning the Academy awards or the Oscar's. If only I had the guts to know the names of the cute ones, my day would be utterly wonderful! hehehe!

I thought it was nothing like those university entrance exams, or those engineering board exams, but I underestimated the feeling. It was like a life and death situation. Imagine, I got 88% on the trial e-test and the computer said that I FAILED!! So I was very very nervous, I thought that you need to get a 100% score in order to pass--such a high standard for Singaporeans!

In the end, I prevailed. I won. I conquered. I came. AND, I tipped and almost hit the table while I was on my way out of the room...PAISEY!!

I deserve a celebration! HAHA...but this is just the beginning of my new endeavour. There are still more to come. Btw, this saturday, I'm going to try out for the dragonboat training. If you're interested, just message me. Although my messages are often subliminal in meaning and do not pertain to any love or hatred relationship…and to which do they pertain? … unfortunately, on moral grounds. :P

I remember, it was fun letting other people know how you feel or what your mood is for the day. Although sometimes, it becomes so addictive because you tend to expect other people to notice you or to give you their attention.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_e01jlnCXCMc/Rp-iQrWO0mI/AAAAAAAAAD4/RVYfx6yk-Eo/s320/DSCN4602.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5088964511349527138" />
It’s like blogging, why do we blog? Why did I started blogging?

The first time I started doing this “virtual” diary was on my first week of work in my current company (I don’t want to mention that it’s Touchmedia). I remember, I was very much amazed by Singapore and the Singaporean people around me. During my lunch time, I spent an hour writing all about the funny and comical things I experienced in Singapore. And one of which is when I didn’t notice that my boss is lurking behind me…boo! Somebody’s not doing their work (hey, it was lunch time you know?)

At first, I sent those chronicles to few of my friends in the Philippines and in v-ecom. The feedback was enormously great. It was that time when I realized that I have the talent to blab and write anything comical, or I can make any situation sound so hilarious.

It started as a satisfying feeling of sharpening my blabbing skills (yeah, a bunch of meaningless words that conveys nothing but sarcasm), until it became more of a “forced” writing to entertain my friends because I owe them the laughter brought about by my stories. It was fun, I enjoyed it, but not after I felt the obligation to write. I think in all things that we do, things seem to become so boring and dissatisfactory when you do them because they have be done. This is even worse for those people who always want a fast and changing pace (like you?).

So what does it have to do with the welcome and parting quotes that I have in this entry? Because I want to make a mockery on the first quote, “you are my sweetest ... I love you first ... beneath the … lies the truth, i have ...”. The moment I read this, I played around with the words and came up with a better one: “Your are my sweetest rainfall. I love you first, I love you second. I love you third and fourth. Beneath the shit of paper lies the truth, I have to go to the loo.” :)

Seriously, it taught me a lesson. The best audience to entertain is yourself; the best boss to convince is yourself; the best person to listen to is yourself—it will never leave you as a sweet downfall, will never hide the truth under the sheet of paper, will never be your first, second, or third love, and you can never say I have to go, I have to go.

…and so my other friend answered back in his ym:
“if you can’t love me at my worst, you don’t deserve my best”
. What a sweet lovely male couple. CHEY!!!! :P Be ready for repercussions on your trip back to Philippines! LOL!

I am going to take my Basic Driving Theory Test this morning. Wish me luck… :)

Under a spiel casted by Harry Potter’s Spell

Owrite! For the meantime, I am ready to blurt out this suppressed emotion I’ve been having inside for quite a time. Sometimes, emotion overflows from our heart and spills to our brain, which often results to a puissant irony of words. It’s like saying, you write better when you’re in love, or you speak meaningfully when you’re deeply depressed or exuberantly happy. HOWEVER, there comes a point when such poignant phrases become waggish or mockery.

I remember once, a person was so furious towards someone that the message the person conveyed to all readers were, “I’m piss off”—which would have been so powerful and intense, and really heart-crushing IF ONLY, it was stated the right way. I asked my colleague, why is it PISS instead of PISSED, and of course how stupid was I not to come up with the answer so easily…PISS is present tense, pissED is past tense. If a person is still maddened by someone, why should you put “I’m pissed off!”…Well, as long as it doesn’t sound to me (and to alot others as well) that the person is actually taking a pee…but the pee is off the target, so the piss is off! *Peace 

OH Going back to Harry’s Potter, I mean Hairy Potter, oh how silly I am, it’s Harry Pout-er! A lot of fanatics and ANTI’s must have written tons of reviews about the movie. It’s kindda funny that some people actually read these reviews when it would been better if they just watch the movie themselves and judge it according to their own liking, their own standard and their own principle—an opinion is the best form of subjectiveness anyway. Well maybe they just wanted to find some people who share the same opinion as theirs or they want to find a person whom they can fight and debate against…virtually!

IMHO (In My Humble Option, err Opinionation), I like Harry Potter not because Hermione looks pretty, nor Harry looks handsomely mature, nor Ron’s unexplainable face—I really just don’t get it, why is Ron’s face always channel an “I’m having a tummyache, I need to poop” expression? I like the movie because it convinced me to read the next book of the series …that it’s worth reading it tonight and stay awake until the sun shines up just to find out who’s going to kill Dumbledore! No, honestly, I don’t want him to be killed, his scene was one of the best magical-action-effect I’ve since from all the Harry Potter movies. If he dies, who can do the disappearing act “with style”. :P

Autobots transformed!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_e01jlnCXCMc/RpRKTnXca_I/AAAAAAAAADo/GrB2SsNTs0g/s320/ph_autobot.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5085771580053416946" />
I got this PUJ version of transformers. I think, or maybe I made myself believe, that I’ve watched Die Hard from 1 to 3—just don’t ask me the plot of each movie!

The movie isn’t great—the worn-out plot of kidnapping a daughter in exchange for something is just too amazing for a kid whose first time to watch a movie is the Die Hard 4! But I’m not a kid anymore. :P But what impresses me is that I never felt satiated watching it. If you want to know how boring a movie can be for me, I’ll tell you this story: I watched Ghost Rider and I unintentionally slept for 15 minutes at the middle of it. No, it wasn’t because of the receding hairline of Nicolas Cage, it’s just that some parts are deadly boring—like the venom of a cobra! Ssssshhh…

The humor of John McClane and his daughter was the “fart-est” of them all—I almost did a bazooka fart laughing! There’s one scene where the kidnapper asked his daughter to speak to John, then the daughter said, “dad, only five of them are left”. Those unexpected moments where the build-up is very serious, then suddenly, a joke pops up, makes the movie hyperbolically charming and enticing!

Or maybe, it’s the story of cyber terrorism, hacking, and geeky world of computers which made me biased on my judgment—well this is my blog, it’s not the E!’s movie review blog.

But after the movie, I’ve totally forgotten that I’ve just had a die hard argument with my Be-oss! Now, that really gave this movie a 5-star rating! Live free! J

Enjoy the trailer below:

Take not the road less traveled!

This speech is written by a 16-yr. old summa cum laude valedictorian of UP Diliman. She finished BS Physics...and she doesn't look geeky. Here's more of her profile: Mikaela Irene Fudolig

Take not the road less traveled

One of the things that strike me as being very "UP Diliman" is the
way UPD
students can't seem to stay on the pavement. From every street corner
that
bounds an unpaved piece of land, one will espy a narrow trail that
cuts the
corner, or leads from it. Every lawn around the buildings sports at
least one
of these paths, starting from a point nearest to the IKOT stop and
ending at
the nearest entry to the building. The trails are beaten on the grass
by many
pairs of feet wanting to save a fraction of a meter of traveling, no
matter
that doing so will exact some cost to the shoes, or, to the ubiquitous
slippers, especially when the trails are new.

What do these paths say about us, UP students?

One could say that the UP student is enamored with Mathematics and
Pythagoras,
hence these triangles formed by the pavement and the path. Many among
you would
disagree.

Others could say that the UP student is naturally countercultural.
And the
refusal to use the pavement is just one of the myriads of ways to
show his
defiance of the order of things. This time, many would agree.

Still, others will say that the UP student is the model of today's
youth: they
want everything easier, faster, now. The walkable paths appeal to
them because
they get to their destination faster, and presumably, with less
effort. Now
that is only partly true, and totally unfair.

These trails weren't always walkable. No doubt they started as
patches of grass,
perhaps overgrown. Those who first walked them must have soiled their
shoes,
stubbed their toes, or had insects biting their legs, all in the
immovable
belief that the nearest distance between two points is a straight
line. They
might even have seen snakes cross their paths. But the soiled
footwear, sore
toes, and itchy legs started to conquer the grass. Other people,
seeing the yet
faint trail, followed. And as more and more walked the path, the
grass gave in
and stopped growing altogether, making the path more and more
visible, more and
more walkable.

The persistence of the paths pays tribute to those UP students who
walked them
first – the pioneers of the unbeaten tracks: the defiant and curious
few who
refuse the familiar and comfortable; the out-of-the-box thinkers who
solve
problems instead of fretting about them; the brave who dare do things
differently, and open new opportunities to those who follow.

They say how one behaved in the past would determine how he behaves
in the
future. And as we leave the University, temporarily or for good, let
us call on
the pioneering, defiant, and brave spirit that built the paths to
guide us in
this next phase of our life.

We have been warned time and again. Our new world that they
call "adulthood" is
one that's full of compromises, where success is determined more by
the ability
to belong than by the ability to think, where it is much easier to do
as
everyone else does. Daily we are bombarded with so much news of
despair about
the state of our nation, and the apparent, perverse sense of
satisfaction our
politicians get from vilifying our state of affairs. It is
fashionable to
migrate to other countries to work in deceptively high-paying jobs
like nursing
and teaching, forgetting that even at their favored work
destinations, nurses
and teachers are some of the lowest paid professionals. The lure of
high and
immediate monetary benefits in some low-end outsourcing jobs has
drawn even
some of the brightest UP students away from both industry and
university
teaching to which they would have been better suited.

Like the sidewalks and pavement, these paths are the easiest to take.

But, like the sidewalks and pavement, these paths take longer to
traverse, just
as individual successes do not always make for national progress. The
unceasing
critic could get elected, but not get the job done. The immigrant
could get his
visa, but disappear from our brainpower pool. The highly paid
employee would be
underutilized for his skills, and pine to get the job he truly wants,
but is now
out of his reach. And the country, and we, are poorer because of
these.

Today, the nation needs brave, defiant pioneers to reverse our
nation's slide to
despair. Today, we must call upon the spirit that beat the tracks.
Today, we
must present an alternative way of doing things.

Do NOT just take courage, for courage is not enough. Instead, be
BRAVE! It will
take bravery to go against popular wisdom, against the clichéd
expectations of
family and friends. It will take bravery to gamble your future by
staying in
the country and try to make a prosperous life here. It might help if
for a
start, we try to see why our Korean friends are flocking to our
country. Why,
as many of us line up for immigrant visas in various embassies, they
get
themselves naturalized and settle here. Do they know something we
don't?

Do NOT just be strong in your convictions, for strength is not
enough. Instead,
DEFY the pressure to lead a comfortable, but middling life. Let us
lead this
country from the despair of mediocrity. Let us not seek to do well,
but strive
to EXCEL in everything that we do. This, so others will see us as a
nation of
brains of the highest quality, not just of brawn that could be had
for cheap.

Take NOT the road less traveled. Rather, MAKE new roads, BLAZE new
trails, FIND
new routes to your dreams. Unlike the track-beaters in campus who see
where
they're going, we may not know how far we can go. But if we are
brave, defiant
searchers of excellence, we will go far. Explore possibilities, that
others may
get a similar chance. I have tried it myself. And I'm speaking to you
now.

But talk is cheap, they say. And so I put my money where my mouth is.
Today, I
place myself in the service of the University, if it will have me. I
would like
to teach, to share knowledge, and perhaps to be an example to new UP
students in
thinking and striving beyond the limits of the possible. This may
only be a
small disturbance in the grass. And being so ignorant of the drinks, I tried all that I can.

At first I tried the Vodka with cranberry juice. It's not because I like cranberry, but it's just that I was enticed by the reddish pink color of the drink. The first taste was nice so I gulped the whole glass, only to find myself swaying while talking to jerson and rona. No wonder the straw was so thin!!

Then after that, I diluted the vodka with white wine! LOL!! I wanted to pretend that I'm so strong and invincible. Then after sipping half of the wine in the glass, I gave up and had to pour water in my acidic tummy. After that, the good waitress gave us a plateful of sushi.

I'm so tipsy...i can't continue writing, anyway after the white wine, I got red wine, a shot of tequila and another vodka with tonic. ...zzzzZZZ

IT Helpdesk Support System

Skills Required

- MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) Preferred.
- MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) and/or MCSA
- (Microsoft Certified System Administrator) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 2000 Professional and XP.
- Good understanding of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
and MS Project.
- Strong desktop hardware and software troubleshooting skills. -
Able to identify, escalate and resolve problems in timely manner.
- Good knowledge in supporting MS Office applications, especially
Access and Excel.
- Hands on Wintel servers administration and support preferred.
- Experience in handling a trading floor environment.
- Experience in supporting handheld devices e.g. Blackberry, PDAs
and Smart Phones.
- Experience in supporting IPC dealer phone systems is an added
advantage
- Fluent in English.
- Must be a team player.
- Strong analytical mind and communication skill.

Job Description

- First point of contact for IT support and requirements
- Provide front-end PC desktop administration support, include MS
OS, MS application, business desktop applications, IPC dealer phone,
voice, data, Market Data system support. etc.
- Handle all request/project of trading floor; First, it's sugar-babe, then came the addictive MSG, and now they're looking at the bad effects of salt.

Hidden salt — 470 mg in a Starbucks bran muffin — is the next big health issue

Drink coffee in Starbucks but avoid the muffins! Coffee anyway is a good source of antioxidants.

The basic ingredient of salt, which is sodium, seems to be the "killing me softly" factor. I wonder if fish sauces or human sweat are included in the list.

Here's the complete article from msn: Stealth Salt

~

"Is Sex Good For You?" - Msn

I don't wanna be sued for copyrights or plagirism here. The title came from an msn article I read recently.

There are FIVE (5) points raised in the article regarding having regular sex:

Sex is healthy for the prostrate (Men)

Sex maintains tissue elasticity and moisture (Women)

Dashed expectations can lead to real pain

Contrary to what one may have guessed based on a schoolyard education, the pain doesn’t result from backed-up seminal fluid in the testicles (in fact, the testes are responsible for only about 1 percent of the ejaculate’s makeup). So why would testes in such a state be referred to as “blue” in the vernacular? Maybe they’re just sad.

Most claims about the health benefits of sex are subjective.

No study has established sex as a painkiller

Most people basking in the afterglow will attest that their body feels good, and it’s a no-brainer that a satisfying encounter can temporarily relieve tension and stress (which lead to any number of ailments).

I can't comment yet because I haven't tried it. :P All theories no applications. ;) The 40-yr old virgin, but hey, i'm not 40 years old yet.
If you want to read more about the article, read it here: IS SEX GOOD FOR YOU??

~

American Idol: Hollywood

Thanks again idollogy for the new AI uploads to youtube, and before youtube starts ripping these vids apart, let me post them here first:

First Part: Hollywood 1 of 5

PART 2:

A million thanks really idollogy because I'm still stuck here at work, need to finish the Love is in the air of animax. If there is, I'll hug you if you introduce me to that store. I have 5 blogs so far, each is representing the different facets of my entirety, and all are now left un-aided, drooping, and withered.

Anyway, this will be a potpourri of all things which are of interest to me. You'll find techno stuffs, money, social and political innuendoes, and of course showbiz gossips, well not really like E! kind of thing, but something like a rickey.org-kind-of-thing where I will post some vids of my favorite AI contestants. Btw, youtube is really getting into the nerves of all those free-tv-addicts, they're starting to remove all those video clips from TV shows...copyright issues I guess. I would be the most affected one here, I've just watched the first out of 5 parts of the first episode of season 1 of Ugly Betty (are you still following?): 1/5 Episode 1 Season 1 Ugly Betty, I guess that will make it clearer! Imagine 1/5 of episode 1, then suddenly kaboom, youtube removed the show. I've been going gaga over this. Now all AI clips are swallowed as well.

Good thing idollogy is too kind to put up some clips in other "youtube-wannabe" sites. So on this first post, though it may look long, I'll tell you who my faves are in AI season 6:

Ebony Jonter

This girl is d BOMB! She's like little whitney (when she hasn't hooked herself with drugs) or like Lisa Tucker from the previous season. I hope she soars high and reaches the final round.

Lakisha Jones

She can definitely sing dawg! I see Mandisa in her...haha, is this a remake of season 5? One comment that I read is true, she even sang the song better than McPheeverrrrr..THINK!

And alot more contestants which I'll blab next time. Coz I need to sleep to prepare for my day job tomorrow...oh i mean today! 2:51 a.m. I need a quickie! Goodnight :D
